Coupon and voucher codes
The function of ‘voucher codes’ will be understood only if you have some idea about the concept of ‘shopping coupon’ or ‘shopping voucher’
A shopping coupon is a document which allows you to make a purchase, corresponding to the value of the coupon, without paying the hard cash.
On various occasions individuals are presented with items which are of no use to them. How nice if they receive cash to purchase items of their choice! This is where the shopping coupon comes into play. It will also save the presenter or the sponsor from wasting his time in procuring the items which may or may not benefit the receiver.
The shopping coupon is ideal in that it gives the sponsoring party control that the money is used only for shopping and no other purpose and at the same time allowing the receiving party to buy whatever he wants. In other words, it ensures that the money is used only for serving the purpose and not being diverted for other things.
The shopping coupon is suitable in regular shops. But it does not help in ‘online purchase?’ The development of ‘coupon codes’ of combination of letters and numbers solved this shortcoming. Here, instead of presenting the shopping coupon, the customer enters the codes. The customer is then entitled for full exemption from paying.
As the name suggests, there are discount codes, where only partial exemption from payment available.
