Free workshop on Children’s online safety

There has been a free workshop – “Protect Our Children – Online Safety Workshop” organized and hosted by Isle of Wight for the first time to the parents and carers of children aged between 7 to 11 years, to protect the children in their Island. The NSPCC is partnering with Hampshire Constabulary to provide such online safety advice workshop.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday – June 25, 2019 at Carisbrooke CE Primary School, Wellington Road, Carisbrooke, Newport PO30 5QT between 6.30 pm to 8 pm.

The session will begin with the Megan’s Story campaign launched by Hampshire Police aiming to manage the problems with children sharing/sending sexual images online. Followed by this, the free workshop on online safety will be hosted by NSPCC.

NSPCC Campaigns Manager – Emma Motherwell told Isle of Wight Radio that it is unfamiliear to the parents about online world. However protecting the children is very important by having knowledge on understanding the technology. The workshop is aimed at providing parents on the knowledge and skills to get understand about the internet world and motivating them to speak to their kids about its positives and risks involved.
