Royal National Lifeboat Institution introduces Free Wills Scheme in north of England

March 7th, 2012 by Sandy

On account of a scheme initiated by a number of charity organizations including the ‘Royal National Lifeboat Institution’ (RNLI), all those aged above 55 in North of England can make or amend their will without incurring any fees.

The lawyers of 18 cities and towns are participating in the Free Wills Month campaign. Darlington, Middlesbrough, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Sunderland, York, Harrogate, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Blackpool etc are among the cities and towns.

No one is obliged to leave a gift to the RNLI. However many people will consider it as an opportunity to safeguard their wish apart from providing a gift for a charitable cause of their liking.

According to Mark Harding, the Legacy Manager of RNLI, the offer by the institution may prompt the people to write the will. Each donation or gift received by the institution will indeed be a lifesaver. RNLI will ensure that the finance available for it is spent entirely for investment in training and new technology for the better preparation of the volunteers of the institution.

Incidentally, the Free Wills Scheme is pertaining to simple wills. It has nothing to do with ‘Power of Attorney’ or ‘Discretionary Trusts’. If the will is complicated, the lawyer can ask for some amount from the Free Wills Scheme to meet his extra work. Alternately the cost can be paid by the person who writes the will.
