A free concert, titled “Sir Scallywag and The Golden Underpants”, for schoolchildren, is scheduled to be held on 18th March. The concert will be at Priority Place Methodist Church and it had sold out 800 tickets in 2 hours. Schoolchildren from 12 local schools will be participating in the interactive concert at Doncaster. Music in the Round has partnered with Doncaster Community Arts to present the show, written by the children’s composer of Music in the Round, which is based on a book written by Giles Andreae. The composer will introduce children to singing techniques and many musical instruments. Using the same device Prokofiev used with Peter and the Wolf, Paul’s composition too will bring the narrative to life and with lively characters. Ensemble 360 will perform with Dolly Ives as narrator. Participating children will be getting participation pack, audio tracks and books in advance. On 16th March there will be a performance for families at 3.00pm with tickets for £8 and £6 concessions. They are available at Doncaster Civic Theatre in advance.
