Free electric blanket testing
Winter is already here and this is why South Gloucestershire Council has made announcement regarding its free electric blanket testing. It has also clarified that if any electric blanket fails the safety test then a new one will be supplied. The offer is mainly introduced to help older people during the winter season.
Anybody interested in testing their electric blanket may call on 01454 863632 for an appointment. Also, forget not to bring along your blanket on 13 February (Wednesday) to Kingswood Council Offices between 10.30am and 3pm for a test.

Amber Valley Circuit to stage 10-pin free bowling night
Amber Valley Circuit, as it is called, is part of the Methodist Church of the Nottingham and Derby District. Amber Valley Methodist Circuit will be hosting a ten-pin bowling night for families. Admission is free and play is for all on 9th February, to be heldĀ in Alfreton, the venue being the Genesis Centre. Timings for play will be between 5pm and 6.15pm in the evening for younger participants. As for older participants it will be between 6:15pm and 7:30pm on the same evening.
Eastside Project to host free Family Workshop
The Eastside Projects Family Workshop will be holding, on 20th February, the free family workshop for children aged from 5 to 11 years. All who are willing can join and take part in this artist -led activity, which will be fun in this hands-on activity and is inspired by their current exhibition. Eastside is the oldest part of Birmingham. It is a creative workshop aiming at fun and exploring objects. The printing workshop will work as a group using tyres. Children must be dressed prepared to get dirty and also be accompanied by an adult. Reserve a place in advance as, although they are free, they are limited.
