Cobham Free Secondary School in 2014Setting up a secondary school in Cobham has become a challenge for groups as several attempts taken so far have failed. Despite this, the group of Cobham Community High School renewed its plan to appeal for opening a secondary school in September 2014. Cobham Free School has also shown interest in this regard. Hence, according to Mr. Ben Martin, co-proposer of the Cobham Community High School bid it is evident that there is a great demand for the state secondary school in this area. Convincing the Department of Education is the next step they need to take, he added.

Cobham has not got a secondary school ever since a free school was set up in the year 1990. Interested parents, teachers, businesses and charities may cast their support at www.cobhamhigh.co.uk, Mr. Martin said.

Also, Cobham Free School has urged interested persons to fill up the “expression of interest” forms at www.cobhamfreeschool.org.uk. A site has already been identified close to Cobham Free Primary School which can very well serve for setting up a secondary school, it said.
