Ninth annual international beach motocross at Margate
The ninth annual international beach motocross will be held in Margate on October 26 (Saturday) and 27 (Sunday) at 10am. Around 100 competitors from northern Europe and the UK are expected to take part in this free event. Racing will take place on dune circuit that is specially constructed for racing. Plant machinery is used for track construction consisting of undulations and jumps.
The council/ authorities and local traders have supported the event and are working with the MC Federation. Special functions will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings too.
Free event to discuss music with pre-eminent Scottish composer
This free event- ‘In Discussion with JamesMacMillan’ is open to all members of the public and will be held at University of the West fo Scotland’s Ayr Campus, on Tuesday, October 24th, from 4pm to 5.30pm.
The free event will endeavour to provide an insight into the career of this famous Scottish composer and conductor, who is Dr. James MacMillan. Widely regarded as a pre-eminent composer of this generation, at the event he will discuss aspects of his career and music with participants. He is currently Principal Guest Conductor for the Netherland’s Radio-Chamber Philharmonic-Orchestra and was awarded the CBE in 2004.
Free annual zombie pub crawl event
Seventh annual zombie pub crawl will take place on October 26 (Saturday) at Stony Stratford. More than thousand zombies took part in this event last year and even more are expected to take part this year.
The money raised out of this free event will be donated for Harry’s Rainbow. Zombies will move around Stony Stratford and will finally meet at The Duke of Wellington. Official start of the event will take place at 7pm at The Fox and Hounds. Pubs such as The Vaults/Bull, The Cock, The Crown (Market Square), The George, The White Horse, The Foresters and The Plough are included in the crawl. There will be live music as well at this free event.
