Free taster session on Sheffield’s new University Technical College
The University Technical College Sheffield opening in September of 2013 is for the 14 to 19 year-olds. It is one of the first in Yorkshire and will specialise in academic and vocational qualifications. It will have work-based training. The government funded college will have training in advance engineering and manufacturing, the creative industries and digital sector. To know more about the college, contact them for a fee information event and book a place for the next session. Applications for the UTC Sheffield are being accepted. Offered alongside the specialist vocational diploma courses will be GCSEs and A-Levels. The college will be able to educate some 600 to 800 students. The free information session will also be an opportunity for both young people and parents to meet the Principal of the new UTC Sheffield, which is equipped with millions of pounds worth of specialist equipment, high-tech design and sound studios and even engineering mini-factories. The UTC will be supported by the city’s businesses and universities.
