Residents and business concerns in Wigston are invited by the police to bring along tools such as garden equipments, commercial and house hold tools so that they can be marked for security from thieves.
A free event will be arranged on 21 March (Friday) by Police Community Volunteers (PCV) who will offer security mark for free. It will be held at Oadby DIY Store in Oadby from 10am to 12pm. PCV will paint the postcode on to the item and cover it with a layer of lacquer.
The initiative has been taken to safeguard tools and equipments that are placed outside the house mostly inside sheds or garages without lock facilities or any security. It is however important for us to safeguard these equipments as well. Local people can come along and mark their equipments free of charge at the event.
