London Underground has been finally equipped with free unlimited WiFi connection with an additional 11 stations being connected to Tube WiFi network. With this a total of 103 stations will possess free WiFi service. As per plans more stations will be connected by the end of March. This network was initially opened for the London 2012 Olympics.

Based on the agreement made between operators and Virgin Media, customers of Vodafone, Orange, Virgin Media and T-mobile can continue using the service without having to pay extra. However, O2 and Three customers need to buy access in order to access free unlimited WiFi service. Tube passengers can continue to use free service from Virgin Media such as news on London entertainment and travel updates.

It is to be noted that this service works only while on platforms, escalators, ticket halls and not in tunnels.’
