Children to get free swimming sessions in Chorley

April 12th, 2014 by Sandy

Free swimming will be given to thousands of children under the age of 16, over a 7-week period, by the Chorley Council. The free sessions are to be held during this summer holidays and will be in conjunction with ‘Active Nation’, which runs leisure centres on behalf of the council, allowing free 45 minutes sessions to youngsters.

The free swimming sessions will be held at the All Seasons Leisure Centre and the Brinscall Swimming Pool. Councillor Bev Murray says that they had run such sessions previously a few time successfully. The council’s aim is to encourage youngsters to follow a healthy lifestyle and good habits, hopefully continued to adulthood, making full use of the local leisure centres. More details will be provided by the council in the coming weeks.
