A joint venture by Wychavon District Council and Droitwich Arts Network has put forth the Droitwich Canal Arts Trail which would be a part of the Summer Festivities in Droitwich. Commencing on 23rd June the Droitwich Canal Arts Trails would provide chances for people to involve themselves in a wide range of arts workshops at different places in the town. The free arts classes would end on the 8th of July. Some of the courses offered would include puppet making, samba drumming, arts and crafts for kids, discussions on mosaics, poetry, photography master classes and so on.
The Art Development Officer at Wychavon, Jenny Davis stated that there would be something for each and every interested person and she also said that they were anticipating that people would come over and grab this chance to learn to do something imaginative, totally free of cost. Moreover, St.Michael’s Church, Salwarpe would be holding an exhibition of art on the Saturday and Sunday the 30th of June and 1st July as a part of the trail.
The exhibition would start at 11 am and would include shows by Quilters, Saltway, artists Mike Holden and David Thompson and the display of the artwork by Hindlip First School the theme of which would feature the Olympics. Tea, coffee and home-made cakes would also be provided by the Church.
Boat trips would be run by the Pamela May on Saturday the 30th of June for tourists who would like to travel to church via the canal. The Pamela May would Depart from Vines Park at 10.15 in the morning and 1.30 in the afternoon and they would charge a sum of £10 per head for tickets.
