Grayson Perry will be hosting a bear-themed night at the Yorkshire museum on 5th May, Thursday, where there will be family-friendly activities based on the bear themed collections of the trust of Yorkshire Museum. There is also the chance to meet the Turner award-winning artist Grayson. Teddy bears and bear related things have been a significant theme in his work. Bears will be scattered around the galleries and people can bring in their teddy bears and join the party.
To bring Grayson Perry to York, some 5,000 people voted for the event that Culture 24 has organised, which is the 10 Museums At Night events, to bring him here. The free event – Museums at Night, will be held from 5:30PM to 9:00PM. There will also be a session – Grayson Perry in Conversation, at Tempest Anderson Hall of the museum, at 6:00PM. Although free, booking is required for places, limited to 2 per booking. For booking go to www.yorkshiremuseum.org.uk on 22 April (Thursday), from 10:30AM.
