Joining hands with the Dog Trust, Middlesbrough Council is offering dog-owners free sessions for chipping and check-ups for their pets. Dog-owners can take advantage of the Dog Trust Basic Healthcheck and also get their dogs microchipped, all free of charge. The event is to help with a change in law that requires all dogs to be microchipped from 6 April, 2016.
Dogs being brought in should be accompanied by a handler of 18 years or above and must wear a collar with lead. The free event is from 11 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. The first session to be held is at the Community Hub, Newport Settlement, on 30 April, Wednesday, on St. Paul’s Road. The second session falls on 7 May, Wednesday, and on Ledgate Lane which is near Bolckow Visitor Centre.
