Free 6 months BT Broadband offer to Daily Star & Daily Express readers

March 18th, 2014 by Sandy

Readers of the Daily Star and Daily Express will be offered by BT, 6 months of free broadband. This is part of a 2-week commercial deal struck between BT and Northern & Shell. Kicked off on Monday, Daily Star and Daily Express will run advertising formats and feature bespoke spot advertising. This will also run on Channel 5. The deal was advertised on the front pages of Daily Star and Daily Express too, and also had a 4-page feature on it. The ad also offered readers free access to BT Sport. Readers of the newspapers can use an exclusive offer code to take up the offer and that can be in-putted on the BT website or by phone on a 0800 number.

In UK, such media packages bundling has become increasingly popular. News UK, which publishes The Sun and The Times, offers it for readers in various bundled packages and so does BSkyB. BT and Sky have been battling to increase audience numbers to their sports channel offerings and this is a new development in their promotions.

Channel 5 partnership director, Agostino Di Falco, said that customers would be interested in this unique deal coming from the collaboration of BT and Maxus. Customer acquisition director of BT, Dan Ramsey, remarked that the deal between Channel 5 and the two dailies to co-promote BT Broadband will really benefit readers and viewers of UK.
