The BBC Personality of the Year 2012 event will be held on Sunday, 16 December at ExCeL in London, which has a capacity of 15,000. This is considered to be one of the biggest events of the programme’s history, following soon after the Summer Olympics of London. Five hundred tickets for the show will be handed to volunteers of the 2012 Games, using a random ballot. Another five hundred will be given to young people from the 6 boroughs that hosted the events for Olympic and the Paralympic games. A random ballot will be run over the volunteer database by the London 2012 Organising Committee. This year’s ceremony for 2012 will see a host of star-studded personalities in sports, the medal winners and sport heroes. 2012 has become so memorable to all Britons owing to the unprecedented success if sportsmen and women of UK. Director of BBC Sport, Barbara Slater was thankful to the brilliant young people, the volunteer Games makers and those in the host boroughs, to have made such a success through sport in the local community. In December, a Olympic legacy session, will be held by Sport-Outreach of BBC in each of the 6 boroughs. The young people attending will be able to register for a ballot. The free tickets will divided equally between the boroughs. Names will be drawn by ballot at the end.
