Three Northampton car parks to get free trial parking in August
Here’s good news for residents of Northampton. From the month of August free trial parking will be allowed in three Northampton car parks on every Saturday. Northampton Borough Council will run the free trial at the St Michael’s, St John’s and Mayorhold car parks.
Free parking on Sundays will remain unchanged while one hour free parking on weekdays will be extended to two hours. Extension of free car parking facility will be decided depending on the result of the trial run. New graphic signs will be installed in convenient places for drivers to choose the parking space faster.
According to councillors, safe and affordable parking is offered to encourage business development in the area. Hence, all are requested to take advantage of free parking by visiting shops and restaurants that come out with great offers. They have also been facing issues related to parking difficulties from local companies and hence have been working with the Town Centre BID lately. This is now a good opportunity to improve the business in the area, they said.
Teddington lifeboat crew offers free water rescue training session
Join the free water rescue training session and learn few life saving skills for free from a crew from Teddington lifeboat station. In this session you will learn to use life saving equipment as well as teach methods of basic first aid and throwing lines.
Richmond Council along with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution will offer this free training session to all those who live or stay along the river side. According to the Councillor people need to enjoy the river and at the same time be on a safer side. This session will help all those who would require help during emergency. Hence, all are advised to make use of this event to the maximum.
It is scheduled to take place on August 13th from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at Richmond Riverside near the bottom of Water Lane.
