Lincolnshire Council offers sign-up for free energy audit

The residents of North Lincolnshire are being offered a free energy audit to help them save on energy bills. If residents sign-up for the free energy audit they could save about £100 on fuel bills. The Department of Energy and Climate Change recently revealed figures that showed that average energy bills have climbed up 15% this winter as compared to the previous year.

The scheme has helped residents to save money on energy bills. People can take up the advice offered  by energy advisor to save an average of £120 on their energy bills. Advise and guidance  are offered on heating systems, insulations and simple measures that residents can take up in their homes. Energy advisors can also provide information and advice on available grants and on the government’s Green Deal scheme. To avail of the free energy audit, contact 01724 297000.

 

Free events at Holyrood Park

Historic Scotland will organise free events at Holyrood Park for the public where falconry and archery can be tried. There will also be an artificial display of lure coursing with whippets. This sport is called as ‘The Sport of Queens’.

According to the interpretation ranger of Historic Scotland, visitors will get a chance to know more about the long heritage and also about the past history of Holyrood Park through this event. He also added by saying that visitors would be able to try their hands on different sports of kings and commoners at this event.

People can also try their hands at Falconry which used to be a famous pastime for centuries. Historic Scotland is running this event for the fifth successive year and hence has been an entertaining one, he added.

Witness free events at National Railway Museum

The award winning National Railway Museum will host free events for families in York. And hence people here can witness history behind more than 300 years of York’s national museum.

You can see trains of different types and makes and experience the feel of several trains such as the Japanese Bullet Train, Duchess of Hamilton and even the Royal Trains. Apart from these you can also watch engineers working at the work shop, find hidden treasures and finally make your way out.

Children can enjoy this summer holidays with variety of events taking place every weekend. Story telling, craft activities science shows and steam rides are some of the special events that will be scheduled. There will be activities for younger and older children as well. Entry is free however few events and activities will be charged.

 

Woodford event will host environmental crime advice session

Environmental Protection Officers of Daventry District Council are participating on 23 July, a Tuesday form 1pm to 5pm at the community event being held in Sure Start Centre in Scrivens Hill, Woodford Halse, Daventry, this month.

The free event is being organised by Northamptonshire Police, which is actually an opportunity that residents of the area can make use of by getting information and advice about existing community concerns, if any. The Leader of Daventry District Council, Councillor Chris Millar, too reiterated this view to encourage people to participate positively.

Environmental Health officers will also be offering advice on tackling problems like dog-mess, fly-tipping and littering at the community event. The Dog Warden of the Council too will be available here to advice about taking care of dogs, besides lots of information on dog-fouling  and about graffiti, littering and fly-tipping.
