Free family entertainment at Avenue Funday Sundays

Wigan Council to offer free training to get people online

Free training sessions for people who have never kbeen onlin aer being planned by the Wigan ?council . Many people living in leigh area sont use the internet . According to estimates buy the council 43800 people or more which is 17 percent of the bourough’s population have nto gone online. To chang all that free training sessions will be started until april by the council at Leigh, Lowton, Higher Folds, Hag Fold, Golborne, Atherton, Tyldesley, Hindley and Westleigh.

One has to book a place by either texting to 07797 806546 or Blackberry Messenger 2599A1C5, or can call 0800 389 7652, to take up the free internet training sessions offered by the council staff alongside Wigan and Leigh Housing staff. Getting online has become important as government welfare reforms are implemented in April. People will have to register their claims online to benefit from changes in the benefit system. If not, they may miss out on money entitled to them. For those who claim benefits, it will be essential if they wish to carry on claiming. Councillor Chris Ready says that there’s nothing to fear, as a person need not even own a computer, as the web can be accessed by a tablet or smartphone. Even otherwise Wigan Council offers nearly 200 computers for free access available in libraries and Life Centres.
