Wiltshire residents to get free service from Red Cross
Anyone in Wiltshire looking for ways to escape this chill winter can get in touch with British Red Cross to get tips on staying warm and safe. The project has been funded by the Department of Health and a dedicated helpline (0117 3012611) has been allotted specifically for this purpose by the Red Cross. You may also mail across to get more information by adding ‘Healthy Homes’ in the subject line. A trained volunteer or staff member will guide people asking for help.
Every person who is visited will receive a free Healthy Homes pack as well which will include necessities for power cuts, winter weather and other home related issues such as ways to get rid of loneliness, accidental falls and more. Also, information packs containing details of advice services and other agencies will also be included. Although this is open to residents of Wiltshire only, people of other areas can also get benefited with this programme by referring someone from this area.
This programme is particularly for older people who stay alone and get paid lesser or who may be vulnerable to chill season.
