Ticket Giveaway initiative to Scotland’s historical sites, by HES

The Historic Environment Scotland (HES) is on a ticket giveaway initiative, as part of the celebrations for Scotland’s Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology. HES is offering thousands of free tickets to visitors, on the weekend of St. Andrews Day, falling on 25th and 26th November, on Saturday and Sunday, being released online.

From 6th November (Monday), starting at 9am, members of the public can register online at www.ticketgiveawar.co.uk , right up to 24th November, Friday, until 5pm, for the free tickets, to help experience some of the best-loves historic sites in Scotland. There’s no limit to number of applications being made for tickets to the participating sites. However, early registration online is encouraged to avoid any disappointment.

More than 30 top visitor attractions across Scotland, including the iconic heritage sites across the Western Isles, will be opening its doors, to offer a free opportunity to people of all ages and interests, to explore the sites and buildings that have contributed to the history of Scotland over the centuries. The tickets include the world-famous Edinburgh Castle, The Blackhouse in Amol and to Orkney, to visit the Neolithic settlement of Skara Brae.

The Director of Commercial and Tourism at HES, Stephan Duncan, had commented on the free ticket initiative. He regarded the free admissions, as part of this year’s Ticket Giveaway, which is proving popular, offered to 35 sites, as a fantastic opportunity to explore Scotland’s rich and vibrant history, a great way for communities to learn  about the country’s past, by exploring the sites.
