An exciting Personal Health Trainers Scheme is launched in Cambridge by a charitable trust, the Mytime Health. The initiative aims at encouraging people to lead a healthy life. Apart from free personal trainers, they offer expert advices on lifestyle changes. People can benefit from advices on how to stop smoking, reduce alcohol consumption and maintaining a balanced diet.
East Barnwell Health Centre, Arbury Road Surgery and Nuffield Road Medical Centre can benefit from the free Personal Health Trainers Scheme. Besides, the selected Children Centres in these areas are also included in the free scheme. Mytime Health is funded by NHS Cambridgeshire.
Anne Westwood, 61 residing in Cherry Hinton, Cambridge was referred by her GP at East Barnwell Health Centre to Personal Health Trainer Service due to her excess weight. Louise Stevens, her personal trainer said that Anne, who was hesitant to cut her food consumption, has lost a stone in six months. With a new figure, now her confidence and self esteem is increased, he added.
Programme manager for the service, Jacqui Lister said that personal trainers can support people who want to reduce their weight and lead a healthy life.
