Here’s glad news for all shoppers in Huntingdonshire as limited free parking has been announced by Huntingdonshire District Council for this year’s Christmas season. This announcement has been made to encourage local high street shopping.
Free parking will be available from 3pm on weekdays from December 3rd to 24th in the following places- St Neots (excluding Market Square car park), Huntingdon (excluding Sainsbury’s car park) and St Ives. Market Square car park and Sainsbury’s car park has been excluded from this scheme as they have been classified as on-street facility. Free parking in Ramsey will continue to be as before.
Cllr Jason Ablewhite, Council leader said that free parking has been announced to encourage residents to shop in their local town. This special offer will be an incentive for local shopping and will at the same time be a boost for business in these areas, he added.
As this offer is announced for the Christmas season, shoppers need not display their tickets while parking during this period. Car parks will have signs and details will be displayed on ticket machines.
