Free tickets for York school children

York 800 ConcertGood news for York school children! York Guildhall Orchestra has donated tickets to City of York Council for the York 800 concert that will be held at the Barbican on October 20th 2012 (Saturday) free of cost.

200 tickets will be given away to young people who have taken up arts sessions and music with the authority. It will thus help people to develop skills as well as lead them upto arts awards. You will enjoy performance that will feature Dick Blackford’s composition entitled ‘‘Fanfare For York’’ during the concert.

According to Coun Sonja Crisp, a cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, this live programme will open up wide range of opportunities to young people related to music and arts as they can witness a range of soloists, musicians, composers and others related to music and the city.

Issue of tickets would be done at the York Barbican box office or can be called on 0844 854 2757 (between 10:00am to 2:00pm from Monday-Friday and from 5:00pm on days of concert) or by visiting online at www.yorkbarbican.co.uk. However, bookings that are made online or through telephone will incur handling fee. There will not be any fee for tickets that are collected in person.
