The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) is urging youngsters of Westbury’s Warminster and the neighbouring areas to try out snooker. Duncan Ashman, hailing from West Wiltshire, is opening the Junior Snooker Academy in Westbury. The new Academy coaches youngsters aged between 10 and 16 years. The first 2 lessons are free and are on Sundays, falling on 21 and 28 October, of 2012, to be held between 3pm and 4.30pm. Participants coming to the sessions need not book but are advised to bring their own cue, as few cues are available to be borrowed. The venue is in Westbury, at the Players Club which is situated on 26A Quartermaster Road, in West Wilts Trading Estate.
Duncan Ashman, who has played at county levels, has more than 25 years experience in both games. He has qualified as a World Snooker Coach, and had undergone CRB check to qualify, and was trained by Steve Davis and Terry Griffiths, both renown world champions. Separately he has qualified as 8-Ball Pool coach. The governing bodies of the game are the World 8-Ball Pool Federation, the English Pool Association and University Pool Council. Both forms of the game will be given individual lessons at the Academy.
