An event to raise awareness on various facilities that renewable energy can offer will be held on 19 March (Wednesday). Crofters and farmers of Orkney can make use of the event. It is mainly conducted to highlight that not just wind power but other options for renewable energy are also available. SAC Consulting will brief on options available including heat pumps and solar panels.

The free event will be held on Swanbister Farm where John Farquhar, Senior Biomass Consultant will talk about Renewable Heat Incentives (RHI). According to Susan Pirie, Agricultural Consultant, the event is held to encourage people about installing renewable heat technologies. She added that the Government will pay for every kilowatt hour of renewable heat produced to warm up your home or business and that too for upto 20 years.

The event is funded by Scottish Government and registration can be done by calling 01856 872 698.
