Avon Heath Country Park the biggest country park in Dorset, was the centre of a conservation event recently, in which volunteers registered in advance to help clear heathland and preserve its natural beauty. The annual event was fully booked and 150 of the participants were given a free festive tree, as part of the ‘Cut a Christmas Tree‘ event held at the county park. Avon Heath Country in fact has stunningly beautiful countryside and spectacular views and also is home to rare wildlife in heathland, including nuthatches, squirrels, rabbits and woodpeckers. The country park hosts numerous events in a year. It is periodically accessible to nature loving families and also to people with wide interests and various abilities. The park is situated about twenty-five miles north-west of Southampton.
