The Nuclear Decommissioning Opportunities have invited Cumbrian businesses to use their expertise to tap on opportunities and challenges in the nuclear decommissioning industry. A free event will be held on 12 March, which will run from 9:30am to 4:30pm, at the Samuel Lindow Building, that is situated in Westlakes Science Park. The National Nuclear Laboratory and the Dalton Nuclear Institute (University of Manchester) run the Innovus organisation which helps businesses in Cumbria to develop innovations and technologies in this area.
The scheme is supported by the nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Energy Coast. In this event advice will be given on business can take advantage of the £13 million fund allocated, and also seeks to introduce businesses to industry professionals to help them get new products and innovations to overcome challenges in the right areas. David Jones of Britain’s East Coast who heads projects, energy and business support, says the free event provides a fantastic opportunity to enter into the nuclear decommissioning industry and get the technical and financial support that is needed.
