Barnet is providing parents and cares in the region free sessions on parenting. The course called “ Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities is said to be a thirteen week long course and mainly targeted at those people who are connected with the bringing up of children who are between three and eighteen years of age.
This initiative would mainly focus on parents and caretakers who belong to the minority racial and social groups in Barnet and who are more open to criticism.
The thirteen week session is being conducted by Barnet CommUNITY Parenting Consortium and would be headed by CommUNITY Barnet.
The scheme would be of assistance with regard to aspects of protection that is related to ideal parenting and examples are factors like to bring about a more close relationship between parents and children, encouraging self discipline and self respect in addition to various means to try and manage anger.
The promoters of the scheme are people who can speak a variety of language that would also consist of Farsi, Pashto, Turkish, German, Somali, Arabic and Yoruba. In addition they also have connections with different community groups wherein both the families as well as the schools would be in a position to avail of additional help and support.
