Free cancer awareness event at Kilmarnock

Residents of Largs and Millport will be given a chance to understand about the importance of detecting bowel cancer during a free event. People can attend the event and talk about the disease with the medical experts. The annual awareness event on bowel diseases takes place on 25 April (Friday) in the Alexander Fleming Education Centre, Kilmarnock at 1pm. Registration for the event will start from 12’noon.

Visitors can learn about different diseases that relate to the bowel. Mr Bob Diament, Colorectal Surgeon will lead the programme. It is reported that screening of bowel cancer started in the year 2007 in Arran and Ayrshire that helped to diagnose several number of people with the disease.
