Free life affirming event at Royal Society of Edinburgh
‘In Memoriam’, a day of free events and workshops will be conducted by the Royal Society of Edinburgh along with the University of Dundee on 8 March (Saturday). The event will focus on people to prepare for their own death.
Those attending the event get a chance to experience life affirmation through writing, discussion and art. Not just this; Experiences of dying and bereavement will also be discussed. Activities such as story telling, creative writing and sculpture will be part of the event.
According to a National Centre for Social Research study, only 11% have decided on their funeral and 4% have made plans on their end of life. If this interests you, then you are required to register in advance for this free event.
Free shows at Oxford Literary Festival by the Bookshop Band
The FT Weekend Oxford Literary Festival will see Oxford World’s Classics sponsoring the hosting of three evenings of performances by the Bookshop Band. They will be playing the free gigs in Marque, on 24th and 25th of March (Monday & Tuesday), from 6:30PM to 8:00PM.
There’s a chance to register your vote in the Marque, as the festival goers here can opine on which of Oxford World’s Classic they like the performing band to make into a song, choosing from The Communist Manifesto, Moby Dick or Paradise Lost. So don’t miss to vote after the free shows at the festival.
Career event- Aspire at West Thames college campus
Aspire- The Skills Show Experience, representing all of West London region, will be held at the Isleworth Campus of West Thames College. The free event supported by Mary Mcleod MP and Job Centre Plus, is hosted by World Skills UK, and will be held on Friday, 4th April, between 10AM & 4PM at the college campus.
The event is mainly focused on the age group of 4 to 25 years, that essentially covers job-seekers, college leavers and school students. It will help young people to understand many different career options and exciting opportunities, available both now and in future, across west London. Over 50 of the top employers would be attending the event. The National Careers Service will be at hand to help out visitors. Employers with vacancies in jobs and apprenticeships can be approached directly by job-seekers, who should have their up-to-date CVs with them, ready for any on-the-spot interviews and screenings, at the free event.
