Free iPads given to Pool Academy pupils

The Pool Academy, a secondary school in Cornwall, has handed over to each pupil here a hi-tech device – the iPad, for free. Around 1,000 students at this school are now happy owners of their own iPads, which can be used both in the classroom and at home. The classrooms too have been equipped with the new technology to enable the children to use the hi-tech equipment throughout the school. The tablets have been paid for by an accidental damage insurance. Selma Hil, the school principal, says that the iPads have given the students an opportunity unimaginable a few years back and also opened the world to them. At the end of the summer term school staff started using this technology with the handing out of the free devices.
