Free School meal missed by many poor children

The charity- Children’s Society, says that for many low income families their children don’t get the free school meal. It’s simply because the parents are working, no matter how little they earn. For some children this could be the only proper meal they can get in a day. More than half of the youngsters in Mid Devon are missing out. The society compiled a study to find that 1,400 children living in poverty at Exeter are not getting the free school meal. So is the case of 1,200 children in Central Devon, 1,100 children in Newton Abbot, 900 children in East Devon and 1,200 children of Tiverton and Honiton. The chief executive of Children’s Society said it was a shocking finding.
