World Book Day (celebrated on March 7th this year) sees the importance of books as Dr Stephen Farry, Minister for Employment and Learning has urged his people to develop literacy skills and highlighted the effect of books on an individual and the community. Dr Farry paid tribute to parents who have refreshed their skills and also tried to brush up all forgotten skills so that they could help their children in studies.
Books not only help to enjoy through reading but also develop career and also improve job prospects, said the minister. According to him, the Employment and Learning ministry is providing with free Essential Skills course in various subjects such as numeracy, literacy and ICT.
Interested persons are advised to sign up for free Essential Skills class in any of the subjects.
