January 21st, 2013 by Sandy

Hercules House, a government office will soon be converted in to a free secondary school (to be called as ‘Oasis Academy South Bank’) after plans for setting up the same was approved by Lambeth councillors. This Government building is expected to be vacated in the month of September. However, the school is yet to get the overall control of the building.

It will also include an Oasis College based on the plan. This new school is said to occupy primary section as a result of doubling the students’ strength on roll of primary students. Few minor conversion works will be undertaken which includes play area at the fourth floor, recreation space and assembly area. According to the founder of Oasis, they will make a bid in order to buy the building. They are expecting an offer of a minimum of £20 million for the building.

However, several people have raised comments against the conversion of the government building in to a school. An open evening will be conducted for families and parents on 21st January 2013.
