The scheme supports the idea of book gifting. Some 720,000 free books are being gifted every year to babies, toddlers, to 3-year olds and to Primary-1 children in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\">This time the Bookbug Week of 2014 has the themes- Bookbug&#8217;s Big-Sports-Day, holding special events on sport-themed activities, stories, rhymes and songs. Parents with their babies or toddlers will participate, and the children will get a special booklet of songs and rhymes. The Bookbug Week&#8217;s <a title=\"Bookbug Week at Aberdeen libraries\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aberdeencity.gov.uk\/CouncilNews\/ci_cns\/pr_book_bug_150514.asp\" target=\"_blank\">free events<\/a> to be held are as \u2013 On 20<sup>th<\/sup> May, Tuesday, between 10.30am and 11am at Central Children&#8217;s Library; on 20<sup>th<\/sup> May, Tuesday, between 10.30am and 11am at Cults Library; on 21<sup>st<\/sup> May, Wednesday, between 10.30am and 11am at Cornhill Library; on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> May, Thursday, between 10.30am and 11am at Bridge of Don Library; on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> May, Thursday, between 2.15pm and 3pm at Culter Library; on 23<sup>rd<\/sup> May, Friday, between 10.30am and 11am at Northfield Library.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the Bookbug Week, which is part of the national Early Years Programme, which is associated with the Scottish Book Trust&#8217; programme, the Aberdeen City Libraries will be holding a series of free events.
