It&#8217;s simply because the parents are working, no matter how little they earn. For some children this could be the only proper meal they can get in a day. More than half of the youngsters in Mid Devon are missing out. The society compiled a study to find that 1,400 children living in poverty at Exeter are <a title=\"School meal\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/news\/uk-news\/hunger-trap-more-than-a-million-children-799136\" target=\"_blank\">not getting the free school meal<\/a>. So is the case of 1,200 children in Central Devon, 1,100 children in Newton Abbot, 900 children in East Devon and 1,200 children of Tiverton and Honiton.
