The well being event has been organized by Croydon Social P on raising awareness on the support available after diagnosed cancer and will run from 1.30 pm to 4 pm on the day.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfree event named as \u201cCancer Wellbeing \u2013 Living the best life you\npossibly can in the world of cancer\u201d is the inspiration of Cheryl\nJohnson. The event will have various talks and workshops on how to\nlive well with cancer that include demo on healthy eating (by local\nchef Courney Bogle), sessions on art and mindfulness etc. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\nwill also be a free workshop on skin care by Look Good Feel Better to\nthe cancer patients. Mindfulness sessions will be led by a local\npractitioner Peter Lawrence and various ideas on art for well being\nwill be shared by professional art therapists. There will be various\ninformation stalls by various cancer organizations, some of them are\nCroydon cancer charity, the Duffus Cancer Foundation and many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cheryl\nsaid that most of these charities offer free services and need to be\nsignposted to them.&nbsp;When she was diagnosed with cancer, she\nfound these services to help her and hence she wants to share the\ninformation with others in the area also. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ncancer affected kids and youngsters will be offered support by the\nDuffus Cancer Foundation. Free sim cards &amp; recycled mobiles have\nbeen offered by Yoursim Pal whereas Penny Brohn UK provides free\nsupport, therapy and living well courses at their retreat centre.\nOther will include Macmillan Cancer Support giving awareness &amp;\nsupport to the patients and Croydon Central Library &amp; Lush\nCroydon provide handmade fragrances and cosmetics. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cheryl\nadded that the main purpose of the event to bring awareness through\nSocial Prescribing of the support which is available in Croydon. Such\nan event will really be helpful as important as the diagnosis and\ntreatment too. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\nwill be provided with free refreshments and goodie bags for all\nparticipants. The talks will happen between 1.30 pm to 2 pm and\nworkshops will be on between 2 to 4pm.
