The events are free and running between 12 am to 4 pm.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nevent is inspired by Guest Director of Brighton Festival Musician\nRokia Traore with the theme as storytelling and journeys. You can\nenjoy the festival line up on the open day suitable for all ages with\nmeeting the Festival team, taste some delicious Senegalese food from\nLe Baobab Cuisine, enjoy live West African music and lots of free\nactivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\nwill be free family friendly activities held suitable for all ages\nwhich include story time corner, poetry workshops, cup cake\ndecorating, mask &amp; badge making and own smoothie bicycle. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\nwill also two special ticketed events run on the day. There will also\nbe an event \u201cThe History of Brighton Festival\u201d hosted by Philip\nMorgan &#8211; the former Brighton Festival Producer between 12.15 pm to 1\npm at Founders Room and he will talk about the past of the festival\u2019s\nquirky events all from dating back from the first festival in 1814. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nother one is Clowning and Physical Theatre Workshop which will be\nrunning from 3.15 pm to 4 pm at Founders Room and suitable for those\naged 14+ years and it will feature an introduction to the art of\nphysical theatre and clowning around from Spymonkey&#8217;s Toby Park\ncelebrating their 20th anniversary. .  \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nExecutive Producer of Brighton Festival &#8211; Beth Burgess said that the\nopen taster day will offer the visitors with a flavor of west African\nculture inspired by Rokia. The festival team will be available to\ninteract and answer the participants on their questions on various\nevents and they can enjoy with free activities and entertainment on\nthe taster day of Sunday.
