One of Southampton’s most historic buildings- God’s House Tower, is slowly turning into the city’s newest arts venue. The 700 year old gatehouse in a \u00a32.4 million redevelopment project by developers and artists, will be, for the firs time since 2011, opening its ancient oak doors to the public, to show architectural plans and present a series of events specially commissioned.<\/p>\n
God’s House Tower (GHT) will be open until 30th<\/sup> October, as part of the city’s first Finge event, that goes on till 1st<\/sup> January, hosting events that will involve and inspire people. A public reading, a Q & A session and an exhibition will be hosted on 26th<\/sup> October, by space artists’ Laboratory’s Writers-In-Development and Nuffield Theatre. Creative Southampton will run ‘In Conversation’ on 27th<\/sup> October, the third in a series of free events<\/a> with guest speakers on cultural subjects.<\/p>\n Eight of Southampton’s artists will display their work exploring the past, present and future of God’s House Tower around the city’s Mettricks coffee houses. ‘Little Stuff’ for families and children, a show inspired by British-Art-Show 8, will be presented by Theatre Biscuit, on 27th<\/sup> October, from 7pm to 9pm. On 28th<\/sup> October there will be a creative trade show of works of artists and designers based at the building next door to GHT, the Tower House.
